The campaign has officially begun, with a huge campaign kick-off at Rosa’s on July 18th! See accompanying photos by Tom Ficklin below.
Thanks to everyone who came out in support of Rosa, and to the candidates who came as well. Rosa called for unity as we go into the fall elections and we look forward to working with candidates in the 3rd CD in the weeks and months ahead.
Rosa’s been hard at work in Washington and the district working on the issues that matter to all of us. She attended a major rally in support of the new U.S. Air Force air-refueling tanker aircraft contract at Pratt and Whitney in support of jobs. She also met with the Economic Development Administration Regional Director to discuss several ongoing economic development projects in Naugatuck, West Haven and New Haven. As we all know Rosa has always kept an eagle eye out to make sure that laws protect the safety and nutrition of our food, fighting for a comprehensive food safety bill that passed earlier this year in Congress. She also fought hard for the House bill that passed July 15 that aims to improve childhood nutrition. She also cosponsored the jobs bill that passed earlier this year and has been among those leading the charge to promote clean energy and hold BP accountable for the environmental disaster in the Gulf.
Look for future posts to give updates on these issues that matter so much to constituents and to Rosa.
Before you know it, fall will be here, and with it our need for volunteers to help us with our field operation. If you’d like to volunteer please email us here at RosaDeLauro@gmail.com.
Meantime check this space for more info on the campaign and to see where Rosa’s been as she works hard for the district.
See you out in the field!
Chuck
